Non-DSA (Year 2&3)​

SOTA may conduct the Admission Exercise for admission to Years 2 and 3 subject to vacancies. Do check back in February for announcements if this will be held.

 

This exercise was not conducted in 2024.

All Applicants

Application for admission to Year 2 for AY2025 will open for the following art forms only:

  • Dance
  • Music
  • Visual Arts

     

Check Your Eligibility Criteria:

 

Applicants’ Profile

  • Age: At least 13 years old (born in 2011)
  • Schooling: studying in a mainstream Secondary school
  • Level of Study: Secondary 1 Posting Group 3

or

  • Age: At least 13 years old (born in 2011)
  • Schooling: Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents studying overseas
  • Level of Study: Completing Grade 7 by December 2024

     

Note:

  • Sec 1 students who have been admitted to their current school through the DSA-Sec exercise or enrolled in the IP programme are not eligible to apply.
  • Art forms accepting applications:
    • Dance
    • Music
    • Visual Arts
  • You may download the Preparation Notes and Checklist from 4 March 2024.
  • Prepare your portfolio for submission.

Note:You may apply for ONE (1) art form only.

  • Application opens on 1 April, 9:00 am and closes on 10 May, 5:00 pm (SGT).
  • Sign up for a TA Portal Account from 1 April, 9:00 am. 
    Application is now closed.
  • If you have an existing account/have applied in previous TA, we will need to archive your current account before you can submit a new application. Please email sa@sota.edu.sg with the email address used to create the current account to proceed with the archival.
  • Ensure that the email used to create the account belongs to the parent/guardian of the applicant as email notifications will be sent to the email address used to create the account.
  • Download the TA Portal Guide to guide you with navigating the portal.
  • Log In to the TA Portal to submit your application.
  • The application form will automatically close at 5:00 pm (SGT). Applicants who are in the midst of completing the form will not be able to proceed to submit their application when this happens. No extension of the deadline will be granted.

     

Important Note

  • It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete the entire application for ONE (1) art form, provided that all required documents have been prepared in advance.
  • Ensure that you chose the correct art form when prompted to make your choice. You will not be able to go back to amend your choice once you have confirmed your selection.
  • Do submit your application early, as the TA portal may experience slower connectivity due to high traffic towards the close of the application period.
  • Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Appeals for late submissions and applications will not be considered.

Log in to the TA Portal on 31 May from 6:00 pm onwards to check your Shortlisting Outcome.

Shortlisted applicants only

  • Download your TA Schedule to find out your allocated audition days/dates and to check for more information about your TA.
  • Check the Announcement page for any new updates.

All TA activities will take place at SOTA

 

Attend all scheduled TA activities comprising:

  • Individual audition/portfolio presentation and interview
  • Group activities
  • Panel Interview
  • Online questionnaires
  • Entrance Tests (for applicants not studying in MOE schools only)

     

Note

  1. Shortlisted for 1 artform: attend 3 days of TA
  2. Shortlisted for 2 artforms: attend 4 days of TA

You are advised not to make travel plans during this period, as no auditions will be conducted outside of the scheduled dates.

 

IMPORTANT:
Shortlisted applicants must attend and complete all scheduled TA activities. Incomplete attendance will result in disqualification.

Log in to the TA Portal and check the status of your TA Outcome

  • Sec 1 applicants: Interim Confirmed Offer – Successful admission to SOTA is subject to applicants being promoted to Sec 2 for AY2025 or Unsuccessful Outcome
  • Non-MOE applicants: Confirmed Offer or Unsuccessful Outcome

Confirmed Offer Candidates

Sec 1 applicants:

  • Applicants who have received an interim offer and promoted to Sec 2 must submit their Sec 1 End-of-Year result slip via email at sa@sota.edu.sg by 30 October.
  • Complete the MOE School Transfer Form
  • No further actions required from applicants who are not promoted to Sec 2 as they are not eligible for the transfer.

     

Grade 7 applicants (Returning Singaporeans/SPR)

  • Submit the Acceptance Form by the deadline provided
